To commemorate 50 years of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war, nine aircraft displayed acrobatic formations in the sky and displayed an unprecedented display of valor of the Air Force. This exciting performance has been done by Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, an Indian Air Force formation aerobatic unit known as the Ambassador of the Indian Air Force. The aim was not only to showcase their capabilities but also to motivate the youth to join the esteemed Defense Services.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Defense Public Relations Officer Shantanu Pratap Singh said here today that the Surya Kiran team has been playing a very challenging role of conducting aerobatic warfare exercises close to the ground in large formations. He said that Surya Kiran, formed in 1996, consists of 17 officers, 200 technicians. Shri Singh informed that the team which has grown into a global phenomenon has the distinction of being one of the 9 Aircraft Formation Aerobatic Team in the world.
He said that the team’s motto is ‘Always the Best’ and it is being fly pasted across India to commemorate the Golden Victory Year or 50 years of India’s victory in the 1971 war. He told that starting from Air Force Hindon, this convoy of planes showed their acrobatics on the skies of Saharanpur, Dehradun, Nandprayag, Haridwar and Meerut and made it known to the people that Surya Kiran is the motto of the Indian Air Force ‘Touch the Sky with Glory’. is following.
