Digital Desk, Skopje. Germany became the first team to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022 after beating North Macedonia 4-0 in a group stage match here on Monday night. While Germany avenged their shock defeat to North Macedonia last March, Romania beat Armenia 1-0, which was necessary for Germany to qualify.
A draw between Romania and Armenia would also have helped Germany qualify. German attacker and forward Thomas Müller took an aggressive approach and created goal opportunities for the team throughout the match, and he scored two goals later. After missing a lot of chances, forward Timo Werner finally got the breakthrough.
He scored two goals in the 70th and 73rd minutes. After this, attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala scored his first international goal in the 83rd minute just seven minutes before the end of the match to give the team a 4–0 lead and the team later won the match with this score. Midfielder Kai Havertz scored the first goal of the match in the 50th minute. It is noteworthy that with this win, Germany will make its 18th consecutive appearance in the final stage of the World Cup and 20th overall.
Germany had a disappointing performance in the final stages of the 2018 World Cup in Russia but are expected to do well under the coaching of former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick and Die Manschaft.
